THE FOUR UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLES THAT CAN BRING YOU UNCOMMON SUCCESS by Loral Langemeier

I talk a lot about having a particular mind set when working on your business. It's the same wealth mind set I learned from my mentor, Bob Proctor. Some of you have seen Bob's stick figure drawings that show how we get the results we do in our lives. Essentially, your thoughts become an idea. That idea causes a particular emotion. The emotion alters your vibration, and the vibration is expressed through action. The actions create the results that show up in your condition, circumstance, and environment. The action in turn causes a reaction that again alters your results. This is the same cycle we run through daily, and it's why a person stuck in poverty stays in poverty, and the person finding incredible deals keeps finding more incredible deals.

The stick figure's "head" is split in two - the conscious and subconscious. The subconscious is by far the larger of the two, and is your power center. Any thought you continuously impress upon your subconscious becomes fixed, or in the words of Michael Roach, "germinate, then expand."

This is where the principles put forth by Roach really intrigue me. I see a lot of truth in these principles, and I'll explain each in my own words.

The Four Principles:

1. Whatever it is you are currently experiencing always matches the general content of thoughts that were at one time impressed upon your subconscious.

2. The strength of the original impression continuously expands in your subconscious until it flowers and forces you to have an experience that directly relates to that impression.

3. No experience of any kind ever happens unless there was an original thought that had been impressed that relates to the experience.

4. Once a thought has been impressed in the subconscious, it must lead to an experience. No impression is ever wasted.

I'll try to relate these principles to a practical application, so you can get a sense of their power. A young girl is told repeatedly that women don't have a good mind for business. This thought is impressed upon her subconscious, and grows throughout her teens. What she sees, and the experiences she has are in alignment with this impression and cause it to grow. She goes through college, finds a job, and moves to an area that is experiencing a real estate boom. However, all the houses she finds are bad deals, or she arrives too late. Her experiences match the impression in her subconscious that she doesn't have a good mind for business.

A second young girl is told that she can do anything she wants, and that she's got a good mind for business. Her experiences serve to reinforce this impression, and by the time she moves to the same area as the first girl, she's already created several businesses for herself. She sees incredible deals all over town, and jumps on them immediately.

Here we have two girls living in the same town. One sees great deals, the other gives up because she can't seem to find any decent deals. One believes she has a knack for business, and the other is convinced she's not good at business. The experiences they have and the circumstances that greet them on a daily basis match whatever has been impressed upon their subconscious minds.

How this Information can Change Your Life:

First, you have to realize that whatever it is you are currently experiencing is a result of thoughts and actions from your past. Current circumstances are no more or less than the _expression of what has been impressed upon your subconscious mind. You are simply experiencing what you have prepared yourself to experience.

I see this as very good news, and here's why. If what you're currently experiencing is a result of past thoughts and actions, then doesn't it apply that your future experiences will be a result of your present thoughts and actions? Yes it does!

You may have heard me talk about the importance of being in action, and about compartmentalizing your tasks throughout the day. That is, when it's time to do email, you do email. When it's time to work on a particular project, that's what you do. This requires diligence and sometimes a great deal of practice to stay focused. When you act in this way, you start creating little successes in each part of your life. These successes and the focused attention create NEW impressions upon your subconscious. These new impressions will eventually surface in the form of new experiences.

Think of it a different way, and this will blow your mind. To experience what you want in the future, all you have to do is begin impressing into your subconscious the thoughts that directly relate to that experience today, then acting according to the feelings you have when you impress those thoughts. This is how you create new experiences.

Simply figure out what you want to experience, and work your way back from the experience to determine the thoughts and actions that will create the experience. This always works, without exception. Positive thoughts get reinforced through positive action, and negative thoughts through negative action. It's an incredibly simple concept to understand, but takes a lot of patience and persistence to get right, and you have to stick with it.

Here's a practical example. Say you want to get involved in flipping real estate, but your current experience is that everyone else seems to find the good deals, and that you always get there too late. Look back at your life to examine the thoughts and actions that were impressed upon your subconscious and resulted in your current experience. In "The Diamond Cutter", Roach goes through 46 business problems people face, and identifies the root cause and how to create new impressions.

It's likely that, if you're always behind or left out, you had this image of yourself impressed upon your subconscious early in your life. Maybe your brother or sister got all the attention, or you had to wear his or her old clothes. These thoughts create feelings of inadequacy, resentment, or jealousy. Actions are then based on these feelings, and reinforce the impression of "not good enough".

You have to break the cycle and create new, positive impressions.

What I like about Roach's approach is how much it requires very specific action to create a new impression in your subconscious. People who don't take the time to do a financial baseline or forecast are fueling the impression of lack - lack of time; lack of resources; or lack of money. To create the opposite impression in your subconscious, complete your baseline and forecast as a way of impressing the thought that "there is plenty of time to do what's needed for my business, and I believe I can make my targets."

It's important to understand that the simplest tasks often create the most powerful impressions. Knowing that you have over 60,000 thoughts in a day, what if you took actions throughout the day that required you to have mostly positive thoughts?

In the above example, the person who feels that everyone else gets the good stuff would benefit from having a mini-celebration every time she hears about another person's success. This impresses the idea that there are good deals to be had, and getting them is a very good thing. Yes, it's that subtle, and that easy to create new impressions. Remember to give it time, though.

Creating the impressions that result in building wealth and the _expression of your power

1. Examine your current situation and understand what has been impressed upon your subconscious.
2. Create the vision of what you want to experience in the future.
3. Determine the thoughts and actions that will most likely result in those experiences.
4. Define the strategies and tactics necessary to impress the right thoughts and take the right actions.
5. Go into action.

More specifically:

If you haven't already created your 2006 baseline and forecast, do it as soon as possible to nurture the impressions of success.

Take the steps to protect your assets and your business. This helps to create the subconscious impression of your value and worth.

Develop real marketing plans for your business to impress upon your mind your ability to succeed.

Create or further develop your wealth team. Surround yourself with quality people you trust, and you impress upon your subconscious the energy or idea of quality. This results in quality experiences.

Celebrate in the success of your colleagues, and learn to collaborate instead of compete. Collaboration and celebration (and gratitude) create impressions of success in your subconscious, so that you may create future experiences in which you feel celebrated and grateful.

Summary:

These are extremely powerful concepts. Yes, you absolutely need to learn about and exercise the fundamentals of wealth building. Develop your plan and strategy. Create your baseline and entity structuring. But, perhaps most importantly, begin creating the kinds of impressions on your subconscious that will eventually lead you to the experiences you want to have. I am constantly working on my mental conditioning, as should you if you want to join me at the head of the table.

How is a problem in your life really an opportunity?

Problems invite us to go inside to recognize a bigger picture of ourselves and of life. This bigger picture brings meaning to what is unfolding. When you feel trapped in a problem, see if you can shift your perspective. Ask yourself, "What is my soul inviting me to learn from this situation?" The answer will always revolve around a quality or value, like gratitude, freedom, compassion, love, will, humour or acceptance. The answer will also always promote union rather than separation.

As soon as we find the meaning in our challenge, our resistance to it melts away. Often, awareness of the lesson is all that is needed to resolve the problem. If not, the awareness brings us courage and ways to work through it.

When I stand before the universe at the end of my life,

I would hope that I would hot have a single bit of talent left,

GIVE BAD HABITS THE BOOT!

Everybody has bad habits. Everybody. Now granted, some people have less than others and some people's bad habits are more grating than those of others, but we all have them. What is great is that we don't have to! Imagine a life where you couldn't change? What kind of life would that be? But we can, so let's!

There are two kinds of bad habits: Those you know you have that others may or may not know about, and those you don't know you have but everybody else knows you have!

For the sake of everybody involved we ought to get rid of them all, right?

Well Chris, how can I get rid of a bad habit if I don't know I have it? Simple, but hard. Ask somebody to be brutally honest with you! You might think, "Yeah, but I'll be embarrassed." Would you rather everyone talk behind your back? Get up the courage and ask. Ask somebody who loves you and has your best interest in mind. Be gracious and don't defend your self. Just accept it and work on it.

What about the ones we know about - which are all of them once your good friend tells you the ones you were missing? Those are the tough ones. How do I know they are tough? They must be tough if you know about them and yet you still have them! If they weren't tough, they would be 'Former' bad habits! Got me? Good!
So how do you break a bad habit? How do you give it the boot out of your life? Here are a few things that must be a part of the plan in order to see that stuff gone forever!

1. You must want them to go. That's right, some people want them to stick around. I have seen dads choose alcohol over their grandchildren. I have seen smokers continue smoking while watching their parents die of emphysema. They don't want them to go. The first thing is to go deep into the recesses of your heart and ask, "Do I really want to give this up?"

2. You do? Good. Step two: Make up a list of all of the reasons you want to quit your bad habits. Make them positive. Make the list long! Start with the really powerful and dramatic if you need to. Now memorize them. Put them in your mind. You are making connections between stopping the bad behavior with what good things you will get from doing so. If you want to lose weight, then picture yourself slim and looking good in those skinny people clothes! If you want to stop smoking, picture your wife actually kissing you rather than sending you to the bathroom to brush your teeth!

3. Choose. That is right. Once you have the information, this comes down to one thing: It is an act of the will. Choose to do it. Say to yourself throughout the day, "I am choosing to..." Eisenhower rightly said, "The history of free men is written not by chance but by choice, their choice." It is your choice. You can write your history.

4. Take action! Point four is tricky because there are two philosophies about this. One theory is that you must take massive action. You must go all or nothing. Using the weight loss example, this person would go spend $500 to join a gym, rework their schedule and hit the treadmill everyday for a year. They will get rid of all fat in the house. They go all out! That works for some. Others would burn out on that, feel like failures and be worse off than before. They should start out slow, taking baby steps, but working diligently toward a planned goal. This person would decide to start walking three days a week. They would decide to limit dessert to two nights a week, down from seven. See how this works? Either way is okay as long as you get to the goal eventually. Which one am I? The first two people to email me with the correct guess will win a "Best Test" CD.

5. Tell somebody. This is your accountability partner. Tell them your goal and tell them your plan. Write it down for them and have them ask you on regular intervals about your progress. This will prove invaluable!

6. Recover from failure. Inevitably most people will have setbacks. The key is to have them be setbacks and not turnbacks! Pick yourself up and get going again. Some people may want to lose 30 pounds and after losing fifteen they eat a gallon of ice cream. Then they feel bad and give up. Don't! Reset your goal for another two weeks and get going again. Chalk it off to experience! Say to yourself, "Sometimes you win and sometimes you learn."

7. Reward yourself. That's right. You should regularly congratulate yourself by rewarding yourself with some gift to yourself. Start small with small victories and plan a big one when you are finally and for sure over the habit.

Is it that simple? Most of the time, no. Habits are hard to break. There are so many intangibles that it would be hard to cover them all. But this is a simple and workable plan that will help you make great strides if you apply the principles.

Get going! Give those bad habits a boot! Good luck!

PERSISTENCE by Les Brown

I believe there are three kinds of people. There are winners, who know what they want and understand their potential and the possibilities. They take life on. Next are losers, who don't have a clue as to who they are. They allow circumstances to shape their lives and their self-image.

I believe there is a third group as well. This consists of potential winners whose lives are just slightly out of alignment. I call them wayward winners. It may be that they just need to learn how to be real winners. Perhaps they've hit a bump or two that has knocked them off course and they are temporarily befuddled. A failed relationship, a lost job, financial problems, unformed goals, a lack of parental support, illness... many things can send us off course temporarily.

Wayward winners are not lost souls; they just need some tweaking and coaching and nudging to get them back on course. A map might be nice. Many of these wayward winners are easily identifiable because they are always searching.

Right now, there are many wayward winners out there braving rain, sleet and snow because they, too, still believe that they have untapped talents. They attend motivational seminars and listen to inspirational tapes and they plunge onward, believing that sooner or later they will find their way again.

Other wayward winners have temporarily given up. They are damaged and disoriented, their confidence badly eroded. They tend to drift through life numbly. The friends and relatives and loved ones of wayward winners see that they are out of sync and wonder why they can't be satisfied, why they don't settle down. They wonder how people who have such obvious abilities and great potential can be so disoriented and unsure.

It is difficult for others to understand the rawness of a broken heart or the aching emptiness of an unguided spirit. You and I know. We have been there. Wayward winners know that there are possibilities out there, but too often they feel locked out from them. Some are afraid to risk any more because of what they have risked and lost already.

I know now that as difficult as it may be for you wayward winners to do, it is necessary to continue to test yourselves. Even though you have been hurt before, it is the only way to grow. We all have the capacity to change, to lead meaningful and productive lives by awakening our consciousness.

You know there are going to be tough times as you go about changing your life, so brace yourself and you will be able to handle them. When you get into your seat on an airplane, what is the first thing they tell you to do? Fasten your seat belt. Brace yourself for the turbulence.

When you decide to move your life to the next level of accomplishment, you must fasten your mental and spiritual seat belts because it is going to be a while before you reach that comfortable level again. You will reach it, but you must endure the turbulence of change in order to grow.

Try this technique to help you through the difficult times of change and growth. Find four reasons why you cannot succumb to your fears and your troubles. Find those deep sources of motivation that can lift you out of the turbulence and above the clouds. You must change your life because, for example:

You have not yet tapped the talents given you.
You want to leave something more for your children.
You want to live life rather than letting life live you.
You want to do what makes YOU happy.

It is in these rocky early moments of bringing change to your life that you discover who you are. In the prosperous times, you build what is in your pocket. In the tough times, you strengthen what is in your heart. And that is when you gain insight into yourself, insight that leads to self-mastery and an expansion of your consciousness as a life-force in both your personal and professional lives.

LEAVING A LEGACY - PRINCIPLES TO LIVE by Jim Rohn

You know me, I am a philosopher. I love principles. Yes, actions are great and I talk about them regularly, but the important stuff is what lies underneath--the principles.

Here are what I consider to be the principles that we must commit to if we are to leave the legacy we desire:

1. Life is best lived in service to others. This doesn't mean that we do not strive for the best for ourselves. It does mean that in all things we serve other people, including our family, co-workers and friends.

2. Consider others' interests as important as your own. Much of the world suffers simply because people consider only their own interests. People are looking out for number one, but the way to leave a legacy is to also look out for others.

3. Love your neighbor even if you don't like him. It is interesting that Jesus told us to love others. But he never tells us to like them. Liking people has to do with emotions. Loving people has to do with actions. And what you will find is that when you love them and do good by them, you will more often than not begin to like them.

4. Maintain integrity at all costs. There are very few things you take to the grave with you. The number one thing is your reputation and good name. When people remember you, you want them to think, "She was the most honest person I knew. What integrity." There are always going to be temptations to cut corners and break your integrity. Do not do it. Do what is right all of the time, no matter what the cost.

5. You must risk in order to gain. In just about every area of life you must risk in order to gain the reward. In love, you must risk rejection in order to ask that person out for the first time. In investing you must place your capital at risk in the market in order to receive the prize of a growing bank account. When we risk, we gain. And when we gain, we have more to leave for others.

6. You reap what you sow. In fact, you always reap more than you sow--you plant a seed and reap a bushel. What you give you get. What you put into the ground then grows out of the ground. If you give love you will receive love. If you give time, you will gain time. It is one of the truest laws of the universe. Decide what you want out of life and then begin to sow it.

7. Hard work is never a waste. No one will say, "It is too bad he was such a good, hard worker." But if you aren't they will surely say, "It's too bad he was so lazy - he could have been so much more!" Hard work will leave a grand legacy. Give it your all on your trip around the earth. You will do a lot of good and leave a terrific legacy.

8. Don't give up when you fail. Imagine what legacies would have never existed if someone had given up. How many thriving businesses would have been shut down if they quit at their first failure? Everyone fails. It is a fact of life. But those who succeed are those who do not give up when they fail. They keep going and build a successful life - and a legacy.

9. Don't ever stop in your pursuit of a legacy. Many people have accomplished tremendous things later on in life. There is never a time to stop in your pursuit of a legacy. Sometimes older people will say, "I am 65. I'll never change." That won't build a great life! No, there is always time to do more and achieve more, to help more and serve more, to teach more and to learn more. Keep going and growing that legacy!

These are core principles to live by if you want to become the kind of person who leaves a lasting legacy.

FACING THE ENEMIES WITHIN by Jim Rohn

We are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear. Maybe some of our fears are brought on by your own experiences, by what someone has told you, by what you've read in the papers. Some fears are valid, like walking alone in a bad part of town at two o'clock in the morning. But once you learn to avoid that situation, you won't need to live in fear of it.

Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions. Fear can destroy fortunes. Fear can destroy relationships. Fear, if left unchecked, can destroy our lives. Fear is one of the many enemies lurking inside us.

Let me tell you about five of the other enemies we face from within. The first enemy that you've got to destroy before it destroys you is indifference. What a tragic disease this is. "Ho-hum, let it slide. I'll just drift along." Here's one problem with drifting: you can't drift your way to the top of the mountain.

The second enemy we face is indecision. Indecision is the thief of opportunity and enterprise. It will steal your chances for a better future. Take a sword to this enemy.

Be here now

"This moment is the moment of reality, of union, of truth. Nothing needs to be done to it or to you for this to be so. Nothing needs to be avoided, transcended, or found for it to be so."

-- Da Avabhasa

Creativity, connection, soul, inspiration and intuition are available only in the present moment for the present moment.

We choose how actively we take part in the cosmic dance of life. We can become wallflowers, mere spectators to life, if we get trapped in the patterns and habits of the past. Or we can choose to dance by being present and open to the energies, the opportunities and the guidance available to us each moment.

"Each today, well-lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and each tomorrow a vision of hope. Look, therefore, to this one day, for it and it alone is life."

-- Sanskrit poem

"You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment."

-- Henry David Thoreau
